Georgetown's Corporate & Financial Law

CFLO is the largest corporate-focused organization at Georgetown University Law Center. CFLO’s mission is to be a resource for students seeking to learn more about and meet attorneys working in the corporate and financial law areas. CFLO's mission is primarily carried out through CFLO's activities on-campus and now via Zoom.

CFLO's events are supported by sponsoring partner firms and Georgetown Law. CFLO is open to partnerships that highlight different markets and industries.

CFLO primarily hosts roundtable events- usually highlighting a specific law firm office and/or practice group. Events have covered venture capital, structured finance, real estate, and securities regulation. Some events may include lawyers from different law firms offering diverse perspectives on practices and legal trends. Following the panel and roundtables, there are receptions on campus where students can talk to attorneys in more informal settings.

CFLO hosts Resume Review in the fall and Speed Interviewing in the spring. These events provide students opportunities to have 1-1 conversations with multiple attorneys from the country's largest law firms and receive candid feedback. These events also help students prepare for recruiting processes including - On-Campus Interviews Students have received internship, Summer Associate positions and full-time jobs through CFLO.

Some law firms have hosted lunches at their Washington, DC offices. These lunch discussions introduce students to the firm and its practices while providing a sense of firm culture and what it's like working as an associate attorney.
