NYU Again Receives Record Number of Applications for Admission



In January 2021, New York University again a reported record level of applications for undergraduate admission. This year marks the 14th consecutive year of increases in applications for admission to its top-ranked, wide-ranging programs.

NYU announced that it received more than 100,000 applications for undergraduate admissions in 2020, a 20% bump from last year. 6,500 students are expected to enroll in the degree-granting campuses in New York, Abu Dhabi, or Shanghai in fall 2021.

Diverse applicants helped drive the surge.  Out of all the applications, 25% were first-generation college students, 22% were from underrepresented minority groups, and international students (a reported 22% increase).

The school also saw an increase in the number of early decision applicants. Early decision applications for Fall 2021 increased 14% compared with Fall 2020.

NYU is expanding its footprint in Greenwich Village, NYC. 181 Mercer is a mixed-use development with classrooms, performing arts education and training spaces, a modern athletic facility, student and faculty housing, and approximately 7,500 square feet of space for a public atrium and community uses. 181 Mercer is scheduled for completion in the Fall of 2022.

Aaron Reuben attended New York University (NYU) where he graduated summa cum laude. At NYU, Aaron co-founded and co-edited the NYU Undergraduate Law Review. While at NYU was a Recipient of Dean’s Undergraduate Research Fund and won the Best Panel Presentation within his division at Undergraduate Research Conference. Aaron also contributed to the student newspaper, the Washington Square News.

Aaron now attends Georgetown Law School where he will graduate in May 2021. Aaron has been working part-time in residential leasing in San Francisco. Aaron will take the California Bar Exam in July 2021.
